Terms of service

These terms govern your use of TripRelay (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

What TripRelay does

TripRelay lets groups plan trips together by creating a shared room, voting on candidate places, and generating a day-by-day itinerary with AI assistance. We may recommend tours from Viator (a Tripadvisor company) based on your destination. See the Privacy policy for details on the data involved.

Accounts

• You can join a room without an account, but creating a room and saving trips requires signing up.
• You’re responsible for the activity on your account. If you think your account has been accessed without your permission, email security@triprelay.app.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the Service.

Acceptable use

When you use TripRelay, you agree not to:

• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
• Upload or share content that’s illegal, infringes on someone else’s rights, or is explicitly offensive.
• Try to bypass security, rate limits, access controls, or probe the infrastructure for vulnerabilities without authorization.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or extract substantial portions of the Service or its data without written permission.
• Automate requests in a way that would degrade the Service for other users.

Trip content

You own the trip content you create in TripRelay (room titles, candidate places, votes, itineraries, teasers). By creating shareable content (like a teaser share link), you give us a non-exclusive license to display that content on the URLs you share so that people you invite can view it. You can delete content or revoke shares at any time from the relevant room or teaser view.

AI-generated itineraries

TripRelay uses AI (currently GPT-5 mini) to produce draft itineraries from your group’s vote results. AI output is a draft, not a guarantee:

• Opening hours, pricing, and availability in the generated plan are not confirmed. Verify before showing up somewhere.
• Pacing and travel-time estimates are approximations; real conditions vary.
• TripRelay doesn’t book flights, hotels, or experiences. You’re responsible for your own bookings.

Third-party services and links

TripRelay surfaces content from third parties, including Viator (tours), Google Places (place data and photos), and Unsplash (editorial photos). Links out to those services are provided for convenience. Your use of third-party services is governed by those services’ own terms. We’re not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or conduct of third-party services.

Viator affiliate links

Some Viator links include an affiliate identifier. If you book through one of those links, TripRelay may earn a commission. This never changes the price you pay. See the Privacy policy for the full disclosure.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise the Service will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we don’t guarantee the accuracy of any content produced by the Service, including AI-generated itineraries and third-party listings.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, TripRelay will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost profits, lost data, or travel disruptions. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid TripRelay in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

Changes to the terms

We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top when we change these terms. Material changes will be surfaced in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which TripRelay is based, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any legal action must be brought in that jurisdiction.
